63,984-acre Hiiu Shallow. Sector 05 Estonia coastal fishing map with an exact official national water-body boundary, EMODnet 2024 official Estonian E50M hydrographic DTM / traceable CDI assessed contours, source-assessed fishing spots, official regional fish evidence, seasonal forage guidance, public-access review and current-rule links. Official Estonian WFD named coastal assessment water in West Estonian Archipelago. This child is clipped to the exact source polygon and a trip-scale ownership window. Coverage classes and uncertainty limits are disclosed; this is a fishing-planning chart, not a navigation chart or catch forecast. The water tops out around 35 m. The depth chart comes from EMODnet, with national hydrographic source-reference audit bathymetric survey data, so the contours are survey-derived rather than computer-modeled. Every species below gets its seasonal read from the same numbers driving the chart.
Kaardil katab Hiiu Shallow - Sector 05 25 898 hektarit, kaldajoont 68.7 km. Nõgu on lihtne (kaldaindeks 1.2) — peaaegu kauss, seega sügavusjooned loevad rohkem kui kallas. Umbes 6% pinnast on madalam kui ~5 m — seal elab toiduahel. Otsast otsani mõõdab veekogu umbes 23.5 km, kõige laiemas kohas 20.3 km. Lähim kaardistatud veekogu on Hiiu Shallow - Sector 01, 12.9 km põhja poole.

Occurrence evidence does not promise a catch or establish that retention is legal. Current seasons, closures, protected species, gear rules and local restrictions always control. The roster may combine exact-water monitoring with habitat-filtered official regional evidence; it does not imply that every species is equally abundant throughout the mapped section.

The spring pattern is a shallow one: european perch in 1 to 3.5 m. As the season builds they drop to 2.5 to 8.5 m, wintering in 3.5 to 10 m. Top water on the chart: Weed flat, a weed flat in the 2.5 m range, prime in spring. Time it for early morning. Summer baits: a drop-shot micro plastics or a small crankbait (perch pattern) gets it done.
| Hooaeg | Sügavus | Parim aeg | Alusta siit | Landid |

| Kevad | 1 to 3.5 m | midday & dawn | Weed flat (2.5 m) | Small jig + curly tail, Inline spinner #1-2 |

| Sügis | 3 to 10 m | midday | Sharp break (6.5 m) | Jigging spoon (small), Drop-shot on deep flats |
| Talv | 3.5 to 10 m | midday & dawn | Offshore hump (5 m) | Tungsten jig + maggots, Small balance jig |
Start shallow in spring: northern pike sit in 0.5 to 2.5 m that time of year. Warm water sends them out to 2.5 to 6 m; cold water stacks them in 1.5 to 4.5 m. Top water on the chart: Weed flat, a weed flat in the 0.5 m range, prime in spring. Fish it in early morning and the evening and you'll meet the bite. Throw a bucktail or a weedless spoon over cabbage until the fish tell you otherwise.
| Hooaeg | Sügavus | Parim aeg | Alusta siit | Landid |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kevad | 0.5 to 2.5 m | midday & dawn | Weed flat (0.5 m) | #5 inline spinner, Spoon (red/white) |
| Suvi | 2.5 to 6 m | dawn & dusk | Weed flat (2.5 m) | Bucktail, Weedless spoon over cabbage |
| Sügis | 2 to 5.5 m | midday & dawn | Weed flat (2.5 m) | Big rubber (Bull Dawg style), Husky-style jerkbait |
| Talv | 1.5 to 4.5 m | midday | Weed flat (2.5 m) | Large jigging spoon |
The spring pattern is a shallow one: zander in 1 to 4.5 m. As the season builds they drop to 4.5 to 11 m, wintering in 6 to 12 m. Top water on the chart: Offshore hump, an offshore hump in the 5 m range, prime in summer. Time it for the evening and early morning. Summer baits: a vertical softbait over humps or a deep crankbait gets it done.
| Hooaeg | Sügavus | Parim aeg | Alusta siit | Landid |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kevad | 1 to 4.5 m | dusk & dawn | Rock reef (3.5 m) | Softbait on jighead (10-12 cm), Shallow crankbait at dusk |
| Suvi | 4.5 to 11 m | dusk & dawn | Offshore hump (5 m) | Vertical softbait over humps, Deep crankbait |

Start shallow in spring: atlantic herring sit in 1.5 to 7.5 m that time of year. Summer pushes them deeper, 4.5 to 15 m, and winter fish settle into 6 to 18 m. The spot to know is Sharp break, a drop-off in about 12 m of water that rates good for atlantic herring in summer. Warm-month bites cluster around early morning and the evening. Throw a herring feather rig or a small silver jig until the fish tell you otherwise.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kevad | 1.5 to 7.5 m | dawn & dusk | Rock reef (3.5 m) | Small herring feather rig, Micro jig rig |

| Talv | 6 to 18 m | midday | Sharp break (12 m) | Small silver jig, Sparse feather rig |
Come spring, look for european flounder tight to the bank in 1.5 to 7.5 m. Expect a summer slide to 2 to 11 m, then a winter hold in 4.5 to 15 m. Start at Sharp break. It's a drop-off holding about 12 m of water and rates prime come fall. Prime time lands in early morning and the evening. A bottom jig with spinner blade is the honest summer answer here.

Spring puts sea trout in skinny water — 1 to 6 m is the zone. As the season builds they drop to 4.5 to 15 m, wintering in 1.5 to 9 m. Spring sea trout concentrate at Rock reef, a prime-rated rock pile around 3.5 m. Warm-month bites cluster around early morning and the evening. A deep-running wobbler or a trolled spoon covers the summer program.

Season dates, license requirements, and size and bag limits for Estonia waters are set by the Keskkonnaamet (Estonian Environmental Board coastal fishing rules) — and special regulations can apply to Hiiu Shallow - Sector 05 specifically, so confirm the current rules before you fish. Before every Estonian coastal trip, check the current Keskkonnaamet fishing-right requirements, protected-species rules, seasonal closures, river-mouth restrictions, minimum sizes, gear limits and any area-specific conservation measures. A mapped contour, fishing-spot marker, species roster or nearby harbour is planning context only. It never grants fishing or retention rights, shoreline entry, parking, launching access, permission to enter a port, or safe-navigation clearance; local signs, land ownership, weather, ice and vessel traffic still control.

Official coastal monitoring from Estonia national fisheries and coastal monitoring agencies informs the european perch, northern pike, zander, atlantic herring, european flounder, sea trout, european whitefish, atlantic salmon roster for Hiiu Shallow - Sector 05. The mixed roster combines exact-water records where available with habitat-filtered regional evidence; not every species is documented at this exact water, and it is not a promise of equal abundance or a catch on a particular trip.
Weed flat is the top-rated area: a weed flat in about 8 ft of water that rates prime for european perch in spring. Open the map above to see every rated spot for each species and season.
For european perch, the summer bite is best in early morning. Each species page section below lists the seasonal windows, and the map shows a live NOW badge when you're inside one.
