Early season european perch use the shallows, holding in 1 to 3.5 m. Summer is a 2.5 to 8.5 m game here, winter a 3.5 to 10 m one. Come spring, look for northern pike tight to the bank in 0.5 to 2.5 m. They move out to 2.5 to 6 m in summer and finish the year down in 1.5 to 4.5 m. The spring pattern is a shallow one: lake whitefish in 4.5 to 14 m. As the season builds they drop to 12 to 27 m, wintering in 7.5 to 21 m. Come spring, look for burbot tight to the bank in 7.5 to 21 m. Expect a summer slide to 15 to 37 m, then a winter hold in 4.5 to 18 m. Start at Deep basin. It's a deep basin holding about 40 m of water and rates prime come summer. Prime time lands in after dark and midday. A heavy jig + cut bait is the honest summer answer here.
