Spring puts lake whitefish in skinny water — 4.5 to 14 m is the zone. As the season builds they drop to 12 to 27 m, wintering in 7.5 to 21 m. Summer lake whitefish concentrate at Deep basin, a prime-rated deep basin around 30 m. Warm-month bites cluster around early morning. A blade bait vertical or a small jigging spoon covers the summer program.
