267,586-acre lake near Jyväskylä. Finland's deepest and second-largest lake. Cold, clean and deep, famous for trolling landlocked salmon and brown trout, with a strengthening zander stock. The lake tops out around 95 m. This chart interpolates between a real shoreline and a known maximum depth. It will point you at likely water, but it is not a navigation product. Below is the species-by-species picture, pulled from the same data the map uses.
Vesi piirtyy 106 503 hehtaarin laajuisena, rantaa 2426.4 km, ja saaria on 913. Rantaviiva on voimakkaasti rikkonainen (indeksi 21) — lahtia ja niemiä kaikkialla, mikä moninkertaistaa kalastettavan reunan. Noin 49% pinnasta on matalampaa kuin ~5 m — siellä ruokaketju elää. Päästä päähän vesi mittaa noin 120.1 km, leveimmillään 38.8 km. Vesi sijaitsee alueella Joutsa. Lähin kartoitettu vesi on Hirvijärvi, 16.1 km kaakkoon.

When the water first warms, landlocked salmon slide up into 0.5 to 4.5 m. By summer they slide out to 7.5 to 18 m, and by winter most fish are in 3 to 12 m. If you only fish one area, make it Creek inflow: an inflow / creek mouth around 2.5 m that scores prime in spring. In summer the feeding windows fall in early morning and the evening. Keep a dodger + streamer down deep or a thin spoon on lead core rigged through the warm months.
| Kausi | Syvyys | Paras aika | Aloita | Vieheet |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kevät | 0.5 to 4.5 m | dawn & dusk | Creek inflow (2.5 m) | Streamer flies (Grey Ghost) off boards, Thin spoon (Mooselook style) |
| Kesä | 7.5 to 18 m | dawn & dusk | Offshore hump (16 m) | Dodger + streamer down deep, Thin spoon on lead core |
| Syksy | 1.5 to 9 m | dawn & dusk | Creek inflow (2.5 m) | Casting spoon at the mouths, Streamers |

The spot to know is Creek inflow, an inflow / creek mouth in about 2.5 m of water that rates prime for brown trout in spring. Plan around after dark and early morning in the warm months. Summer baits: a spoon at the thermocline or a deep stickbait (night) gets it done.
