2,800-acre reservoir near Boise. A deep Boise River reservoir just east of the city, popular for kokanee, trout and smallmouth. The lake tops out around 280 ft. Bathymetry on this water is estimated from its real outline and maximum depth. Use it to shortlist water, then verify with your electronics — and never navigate by it. Species by species, here's what the data says the year looks like.
The outline encloses 2,712 acres, worked by 42.3 miles of shoreline. The 5.8 development index tells the story — a convoluted bank whose fishable edge far outruns the acreage. Roughly 35% of the water is 15 ft or less as modeled, the band where the food chain lives. Figure 8.6 mi of water from one end to the other, 4.4 mi at the beam. Ada County claims this one. Its nearest charted neighbour, Arrowrock Reservoir, is 8 mi to the east.
When the water first warms, rainbow trout slide up into 5 to 20 ft. Summer is an 8 to 30 ft game here, winter an 8 to 40 ft one. Start at Long Gulch inflow. It's an inflow / creek mouth holding about 8 ft of water and rates prime come spring. The feeding windows run early morning and the evening. Keep a dodger + spoon (deep troll) or a flutter spoon rigged through the warm months.

Early season smallmouth bass use the shallows, holding in 3 to 12 ft. Expect a summer slide to 10 to 30 ft, then a winter hold in 20 to 45 ft. Put Rock reef first on the milk run — a rock pile near 7 ft that grades prime for spring. In summer the feeding windows fall in early morning and the evening. Tie on a drop shot (goby/minnow) or a ned rig and you're in the game.

Come spring, look for kokanee tight to the bank in 10 to 30 ft. They move out to 30 to 70 ft in summer and finish the year down in 20 to 80 ft. If you only fish one area, make it Long Gulch inflow: an inflow / creek mouth around 8 ft that scores prime in fall. Best bite is early morning. A dodger + pink/orange squid on downrigger or a kokanee bug + corn is the honest summer answer here.

Spring coho salmon on Lucky Peak Lake hold shallow, usually 3 to 25 ft. By summer they slide out to 30 to 70 ft, and by winter most fish are in 20 to 60 ft.
