1,380-acre lake near Highland. The lake tops out around 108 ft. The depth chart comes from published agency bathymetric survey data, so the contours are survey-derived rather than computer-modeled. The depth data here comes from Murray & Pullar's Scottish loch survey of 1897-1909, digitized from the bathymetric atlas published in 1910. Loch Naver maps at 1,377 acres behind 16 miles of shoreline. That shoreline is heavily fingered (development index 3.1) — bays, points and pockets everywhere, which multiplies the fishable edge. Roughly 45% of the water is 15 ft or less, the band where the food chain lives. End to end it runs roughly 5.9 mi, about 1.1 mi across. Highland claims this one. Its nearest charted neighbour, Loch Choire or Loch Coir an Fhearna, is 5 mi to the south.
In spring, brown trout run shallow here, mostly 3 to 25 ft. Summer pushes them deeper, 25 to 60 ft, and winter fish settle into 5 to 35 ft. Break off the point is the standout, a drop-off at roughly 6 ft, rated prime for winter brown trout. Time it for after dark and early morning. You won't need more than a spoon at the thermocline or a deep stickbait (night) most summer days.

Spring european perch on Loch Naver hold shallow, usually 3 to 12 ft. By summer they slide out to 8 to 28 ft, and by winter most fish are in 12 to 33 ft. When the water first warms, northern pike slide up into 2 to 8 ft. By summer they slide out to 8 to 20 ft, and by winter most fish are in 5 to 15 ft. If you only fish one area, make it Shallow bay flat: a weed flat around 2 ft that scores prime in spring. In summer the feeding windows fall in early morning and the evening. Keep a bucktail or a weedless spoon over cabbage rigged through the warm months.

Start shallow in spring: arctic char sit in 4 to 15 ft that time of year. Warm water sends them out to 20 to 60 ft; cold water stacks them in 10 to 40 ft.
