63-acre lake near Perth and Kinross. The lake tops out around 9 ft. The depth chart comes from published agency bathymetric survey data, so the contours are survey-derived rather than computer-modeled. The depth data here comes from Murray & Pullar's Scottish loch survey of 1897-1909, digitized from the bathymetric atlas published in 1910. Loch Con maps at 63 acres behind 3 miles of shoreline. A development index of 2.7 means a maze of bays and points: far more casting targets than a round bowl of the same size. There is no deep basin to speak of — the entire surface is under ~15 ft, prime weed water end to end. Figure 0.9 mi of water from one end to the other, 0.3 mi at the beam. It sits in Perth and Kinross. If the bite dies, Loch Garry is 4 mi to the west.
Start shallow in spring: brown trout sit in 1 to 9 ft that time of year. They don't go far with the seasons — 3 to 9 ft covers summer, 1 to 9 ft covers winter. When the water first warms, european perch slide up into 2 to 9 ft. There's no big seasonal slide here — summer means 3 to 9 ft, winter 3 to 9 ft. Start at Shallow bay flat. It's a weed flat holding about 2 ft of water and rates prime come spring. The feeding windows run early morning. Spring northern pike on Loch Con hold shallow, usually 2 to 8 ft. They move out to 3 to 9 ft in summer and finish the year down in 3 to 9 ft.
