The spring pattern is a shallow one: european perch in 1 to 3.5 m. As the season builds they drop to 2.5 to 8.5 m, wintering in 3.5 to 10 m. Top water on the chart: Shallow bay flat, a weed flat in the 2 m range, prime in spring. Time it for early morning. Summer baits: a drop-shot micro plastics or a small crankbait (perch pattern) gets it done.

Start shallow in spring: northern pike sit in 0.5 to 2.5 m that time of year. Warm water sends them out to 2.5 to 6 m; cold water stacks them in 1.5 to 4.5 m. Spring puts burbot in skinny water — 4.5 to 15 m is the zone. Summer fish stay in 4.5 to 15 m, and winter fish hold in 3.5 to 15 m.
