When the water first warms, zander slide up into 1 to 4.5 m. Summer is a 4.5 to 11 m game here, winter a 6 to 12 m one. Start at Break off the point. It's a drop-off holding about 5.5 m of water and rates prime come fall. The feeding windows run the evening and early morning. Keep a vertical softbait over humps or a deep crankbait rigged through the warm months.

Spring northern pike on Hiidenvesi hold shallow, usually 0.5 to 2.5 m. They move out to 2.5 to 6 m in summer and finish the year down in 1.5 to 4.5 m. Put Shallow bay flat first on the milk run — a weed flat near 0.5 m that grades prime for spring. The feeding windows run early morning and the evening.
