Spring puts northern pike in skinny water — 0.5 to 2.5 m is the zone. As the season builds they drop to 2.5 to 6 m, wintering in 1.5 to 4.5 m. When the water first warms, lake whitefish slide up into 2 to 6 m. There's no big seasonal slide here — summer means 2 to 6 m, winter 2 to 6 m.
