Trout Lake maps at 370 acres behind 6.4 miles of shoreline. The 2.4 development index tells the story — a convoluted bank whose fishable edge far outruns the acreage. About 54% of the surface sits shallower than 15 ft — that's the weed-and-bait zone. Figure 1.7 mi of water from one end to the other, 1 mi at the beam. When the water first warms, rainbow trout slide up into 5 to 20 ft. By summer they slide out to 8 to 30 ft, and by winter most fish are in 8 to 40 ft. In spring, yellow perch run shallow here, mostly 3 to 12 ft. Midsummer fish sit out in 10 to 30 ft before dropping to 15 to 35 ft for winter. Spring yellow perch concentrate at Shallow bay flat, a prime-rated weed flat around 3 ft. Fish it in early morning and you'll meet the bite.
