14-acre lake in Renfrew County, Ontario. The lake tops out around 32 ft. The depth chart comes from Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry bathymetric survey data, so the contours are survey-derived rather than computer-modeled. The depth data here comes from the Ontario MNRF survey of 1975, a decades-old survey (a transect sounding survey). Species by species, here's what the data says the year looks like.
Traced from the shoreline, Tooeys Lake runs 14 acres with 0.7 miles of edge. A shoreline index of 1.4 says round and simple: fish relate to depth changes here, not shoreline features. The shallow band under 15 ft claims about 82% of the surface — that's where the groceries are. The basin spans about 0.3 mi end to end. The water lies in Renfrew County. The nearest mapped water is Upper Twin Lake, 2 mi to the southwest.
In spring, brook trout run shallow here, mostly 2 to 15 ft. Midsummer fish sit out in 10 to 30 ft before dropping to 3 to 20 ft for winter. Summer brook trout concentrate at Deep basin, a prime-rated deep basin around 29 ft. Fish it in early morning and the evening and you'll meet the bite. You won't need more than a small spoon fished deep or a trolled lake-clear wobbler + worm most summer days.
| Season | Depth | Best window | Start at | Go-to baits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spring | 2 to 15 ft | dawn & dusk | Main-lake point (5 ft) | Small inline spinner (gold), Tiny spoon |

| Winter | 3 to 20 ft | dawn | Break off the point (17 ft) | Small jigging spoon, Tungsten jig + plastic |
Early season pumpkinseed use the shallows, holding in 1 to 8 ft. Expect a summer slide to 2 to 10 ft, then a winter hold in 6 to 18 ft. Put Break off the point first on the milk run — a drop-off near 17 ft that grades good for winter. In summer the feeding windows fall in the evening and early morning. Tie on a micro tube or a sponge spider (fly) and you're in the game.
