Spring brown trout on Stuorajávri hold shallow, usually 1 to 7.5 m. By summer they slide out to 7.5 to 18 m, and by winter most fish are in 1.5 to 11 m. In spring, northern pike run shallow here, mostly 0.5 to 2.5 m. Midsummer fish sit out in 2.5 to 6 m before dropping to 1.5 to 4.5 m for winter. Come spring, look for lake whitefish tight to the bank in 4.5 to 14 m. They move out to 12 to 27 m in summer and finish the year down in 7.5 to 21 m. If you only fish one area, make it Deep basin: a deep basin around 25 m that scores prime in summer. Best bite is early morning. A blade bait vertical or a small jigging spoon is the honest summer answer here.
