Spring puts northern pike in skinny water — 0.5 to 2.5 m is the zone. Warm water sends them out to 2.5 to 6 m; cold water stacks them in 1.5 to 4.5 m. Shallow bay flat is the standout, a weed flat at roughly 0.5 m, rated prime for spring northern pike. Plan around early morning and the evening in the warm months.
