162-acre lake near Devon. The lake tops out around 7 ft. The contours come from a model of the real basin shape and its known max depth. Drawn out, this is 162 acres of water rimmed by 3.6 miles of bank. Index 2 on the shoreline: a few honest points and pockets, nothing labyrinthine. All of it is shallow-zone water — under ~15 ft across the entire basin, so the food chain has the run of the place. Figure 1.5 mi of water from one end to the other, 0.4 mi at the beam. In spring, european perch run shallow here, mostly 2 to 7 ft. Summer keeps them at 2 to 7 ft, and they winter in 2 to 7 ft. Shallow bay flat is the standout, a weed flat at roughly 3 ft, rated prime for spring european perch. Time it for early morning. You won't need more than a drop-shot micro plastics or a small crankbait (perch pattern) most summer days.

In spring, northern pike run shallow here, mostly 2 to 7 ft. Summer keeps them at 2 to 7 ft, and they winter in 2 to 7 ft. Spring northern pike concentrate at Shallow bay flat, a prime-rated weed flat around 3 ft. Fish it in early morning and the evening and you'll meet the bite. You won't need more than a bucktail or a weedless spoon over cabbage most summer days.
