12-acre lake in Nipissing District, Ontario. The lake tops out around 8 ft. This chart interpolates between a real shoreline and a known maximum depth. Ryegrass Lake maps at 12 acres behind 0.8 miles of shoreline. A middling shoreline index (1.7) gives it some bays to work without being a maze. Every acre of it sits shallower than ~15 ft: one big littoral zone, cover and forage throughout. The basin spans about 0.3 mi end to end. Nipissing District claims this one. In spring, yellow perch run shallow here, mostly 2 to 8 ft. Summer keeps them at 2 to 8 ft, and they winter in 2 to 8 ft.
