The spring pattern is a shallow one: european perch in 1 to 3.5 m. As the season builds they drop to 2.5 to 8.5 m, wintering in 3.5 to 10 m. Top water on the chart: Shallow bay flat, a weed flat in the 1 m range, prime in spring. Time it for early morning. Spring puts burbot in skinny water — 7.5 to 21 m is the zone. Warm water sends them out to 15 to 37 m; cold water stacks them in 4.5 to 18 m.
