The drawn water covers 16,601 acres wrapped in 182.2 miles of bank — one island included. With a shoreline index of 10.1, this water is all arms and coves — edge habitat well beyond its acreage. The shallow band under 15 ft claims about 31% of the surface — that's where the groceries are. Figure 15.4 mi of water from one end to the other, 10 mi at the beam. Palo Pinto County claims this one. If the bite dies, Lake Graham is 19 mi to the northwest.
Start shallow in spring: striped bass sit in 5 to 20 ft that time of year. Summer pushes them deeper, 25 to 60 ft, and winter fish settle into 20 to 50 ft. The spot to know is Shoreline point, a point in about 22 ft of water that rates prime for striped bass in fall. Warm-month bites cluster around early morning and the evening. Throw a flutter spoon (deep) or an umbrella rig (trolled) until the fish tell you otherwise.

In spring, white bass run shallow here, mostly 2 to 12 ft. Midsummer fish sit out in 8 to 25 ft before dropping to 15 to 40 ft for winter. Spring white bass concentrate at Caddo Creek inflow, a prime-rated inflow / creek mouth around 4 ft. Fish it in early morning and the evening and you'll meet the bite. You won't need more than a slab spoon or a small topwater (schooling fish) most summer days.

When the water first warms, largemouth bass slide up into 2 to 10 ft. By summer they slide out to 8 to 20 ft, and by winter most fish are in 15 to 35 ft. If you only fish one area, make it Shallow bay flat: a weed flat around 4 ft that scores prime in spring. In summer the feeding windows fall in early morning and the evening. Keep a texas-rigged 10" worm or a deep-diving crankbait rigged through the warm months.
