46-acre lake near Cheshire. The lake tops out around 26 ft. These contours are modeled — built from the real shoreline and the water's maximum depth — so read them as a guide, never as navigation. What the data behind the map says about each species, season by season:
Oak Mere maps at 45 acres behind 1.4 miles of shoreline. A middling shoreline index (1.5) gives it some bays to work without being a maze. 77% of the surface is littoral (under ~15 ft), per the model — cover, weeds and forage water.
Spring puts brown trout in skinny water — 3 to 25 ft is the zone. As the season builds they drop to 8 to 26 ft, wintering in 4 to 26 ft. Summer brown trout concentrate at Break off the point, a prime-rated drop-off around 12 ft. Warm-month bites cluster around after dark and early morning.
