Vesi piirtyy 163 hehtaarin laajuisena, rantaa 11.7 km. Rantaviiva on voimakkaasti rikkonainen (indeksi 2.6) — lahtia ja niemiä kaikkialla, mikä moninkertaistaa kalastettavan reunan. Noin 59% pinnasta on matalampaa kuin ~5 m — siellä ruokaketju elää. Päästä päähän vesi mittaa noin 2.7 km, leveimmillään 1.6 km. Vesi sijaitsee alueella Mikkelin seutukunta. Lähin kartoitettu vesi on Juolasvesi-Sarkavesi, 8 km koilliseen.
