873-acre lake near Omineca, BC. The lake tops out around 194 ft. The depth chart comes from published agency bathymetric survey data, so the contours are survey-derived rather than computer-modeled. What follows comes from the same scoring engine that paints the spots above.
Drawn out, this is 891 acres of water rimmed by 9.9 miles of bank. The 2.4 development index tells the story — a convoluted bank whose fishable edge far outruns the acreage. About 2% of the surface sits shallower than 15 ft — that's the weed-and-bait zone. Figure 4.3 mi of water from one end to the other, 0.7 mi at the beam. Start shallow in spring: rainbow trout sit in 5 to 20 ft that time of year. Summer pushes them deeper, 8 to 30 ft, and winter fish settle into 8 to 40 ft. Come spring, look for lake whitefish tight to the bank in 15 to 45 ft. They move out to 40 to 90 ft in summer and finish the year down in 25 to 70 ft. If you only fish one area, make it Back-bay flat: a feeding flat around 17 ft that scores prime in spring. Best bite is early morning. A blade bait vertical or a small jigging spoon is the honest summer answer here.
