656-acre reservoir near Waxahachie. The lake tops out around 49 ft. The depth chart comes from Texas Water Development Board bathymetric survey data, so the contours are survey-derived rather than computer-modeled. Species by species, here's what the data says the year looks like.
Lake Waxahachie maps at 631 acres behind 9.5 miles of shoreline — 3 islands included. The 2.7 development index tells the story — a convoluted bank whose fishable edge far outruns the acreage. 44% of the surface is littoral (under ~15 ft) — cover, weeds and forage water. Figure 2.5 mi of water from one end to the other, 0.9 mi at the beam. It sits in Ellis County. If the bite dies, Bardwell Lake is 9 mi to the east.
Come spring, look for largemouth bass tight to the bank in 2 to 10 ft. They move out to 8 to 20 ft in summer and finish the year down in 15 to 35 ft. If you only fish one area, make it Back-bay flat: a weed flat around 2 ft that scores prime in spring. Best bite is early morning and the evening. A texas-rigged 10" worm or a deep-diving crankbait is the honest summer answer here.

Spring puts white bass in skinny water — 2 to 12 ft is the zone. As the season builds they drop to 8 to 25 ft, wintering in 15 to 40 ft. Fall white bass concentrate at Main-lake point, a prime-rated point around 7 ft. Warm-month bites cluster around early morning and the evening. A slab spoon or a small topwater (schooling fish) covers the summer program.

When the water first warms, crappie slide up into 2 to 8 ft. Summer is a 10 to 25 ft game here, winter a 15 to 35 ft one. Start at Back-bay flat. It's a weed flat holding about 2 ft of water and rates prime come spring. The feeding windows run early morning and the evening. Keep a jig trolled/spider-rigged or a small crankbait (trolled) rigged through the warm months.

In spring, blue catfish run shallow here, mostly 5 to 25 ft. Summer pushes them deeper, 10 to 40 ft, and winter fish settle into 15 to 49 ft. Deep basin is the standout, a deep basin at roughly 48 ft, rated prime for winter blue catfish. Time it for early morning and the evening.
