1,975-acre lake. Hydroacoustic-surveyed Florida lake (FWC), recovered from a water-connected survey blob by joining contours to its USGS NHD named-waterbody polygon. Standard Florida warmwater roster; species not individually verified. The lake tops out around 20 ft. The depth chart comes from published agency bathymetric survey data, so the contours are survey-derived rather than computer-modeled. Lake Gentry maps at 2,001 acres behind 7.9 miles of shoreline, with a single island in the mix. Nearly circular (index 1.3), so the story is the bottom, not the bank. About 84% of the surface sits shallower than 15 ft — that's the weed-and-bait zone. Figure 2.7 mi of water from one end to the other, 1.8 mi at the beam. It sits in Osceola County. Its nearest charted neighbour, Alligator Lake, is 5 mi to the northeast.
When the water first warms, largemouth bass slide up into 2 to 10 ft. Summer is an 8 to 20 ft game here, winter a 6 to 20 ft one. Start at Grass flat. It's a weed flat holding about 2 ft of water and rates prime come spring. The feeding windows run early morning and the evening. Keep a texas-rigged 10" worm or a deep-diving crankbait rigged through the warm months.

Come spring, look for crappie tight to the bank in 2 to 8 ft. They move out to 6 to 20 ft in summer and finish the year down in 6 to 20 ft. If you only fish one area, make it Deepest hole: a deep basin around 20 ft that scores prime in winter. Best bite is early morning and the evening. A jig trolled/spider-rigged or a small crankbait (trolled) is the honest summer answer here.
