Spring puts lake trout in skinny water — 10 to 40 ft is the zone. As the season builds they drop to 24 to 79 ft, wintering in 20 to 79 ft. Summer lake trout concentrate at Deep basin, a prime-rated deep basin around 79 ft. Warm-month bites cluster around early morning. A white tube jig (deep) or a magnum spoon on downrigger covers the summer program.

Main-lake point is the standout, a point at roughly 12 ft, rated prime for spring rainbow trout. Plan around early morning and the evening in the warm months. Come spring, look for brown trout tight to the bank in 3 to 25 ft. They move out to 25 to 60 ft in summer and finish the year down in 5 to 35 ft.
