Spring puts brook trout in skinny water — 2 to 15 ft is the zone. Warm water sends them out to 8 to 26 ft; cold water stacks them in 3 to 20 ft. In spring, rainbow trout run shallow here, mostly 5 to 20 ft. Midsummer fish sit out in 7 to 26 ft before dropping to 5 to 26 ft for winter.
