42-acre lake near Crow Wing County. The lake tops out around 28 ft. The chart is a model: real shoreline, published maximum depth, interpolated in between. A planning tool, never a navigation product. What the data behind the map says about each species, season by season:
On the chart, Horseshoe draws 42 acres inside 1.2 miles of shoreline. At index 1.3 the outline is almost a bowl — read the depth changes, not the shoreline. The shallow band under 15 ft claims about 44% of the surface on the model — that's where the groceries are. Tip to tip the water measures near 0.3 mi with a 0.3-mi widest point. You'll find it in Crow Wing County. For a second option, Fawn lies 2 mi north.
Early season yellow perch use the shallows, holding in 3 to 12 ft. Summer is an 8 to 28 ft game here, winter an 8 to 28 ft one. The chart's best answer is Shallow bay flat — weed flat, 3 ft, prime for spring. Best bite is early morning. Tie on a drop-shot micro plastics or a small spoon tipped with worm and you're in the game.
Depth note: when a documented seasonal range extends below this chart, the table shows the deepest mapped working water, not a verified holding depth.
