17-acre lake near Hampshire. The lake tops out around 8 ft. The chart is a model: real shoreline, published maximum depth, interpolated in between. A planning tool, never a navigation product. What the data behind the map says about each species, season by season:
Hatchet Pond maps at 17 acres behind 1.1 miles of shoreline. A middling shoreline index (1.9) gives it some bays to work without being a maze. There is no deep basin to speak of — the entire surface is under ~15 ft, prime weed water end to end.
In spring, brown trout run shallow here, mostly 1 to 8 ft. Even in summer they hold at 2 to 8 ft; winter keeps them in 1 to 8 ft. Deep basin is the standout, a deep basin at roughly 7 ft, rated prime for summer brown trout. Time it for after dark and early morning.
