Crag Lough maps at 25 acres behind 1.1 miles of shoreline. A middling shoreline index (1.5) gives it some bays to work without being a maze. Every acre of it sits shallower than ~15 ft: one big littoral zone, cover and forage throughout.
In spring, brown trout run shallow here, mostly 1 to 6 ft. There's no big seasonal slide here — summer means 2 to 6 ft, winter 1 to 6 ft. Break off the point is the standout, a drop-off at roughly 3 ft, rated prime for summer brown trout. Time it for after dark and early morning. When the water first warms, northern pike slide up into 2 to 6 ft. Summer keeps them at 2 to 6 ft, and they winter in 2 to 6 ft. If you only fish one area, make it Shallow bay flat: a weed flat around 3 ft that scores prime in spring. In summer the feeding windows fall in early morning and the evening. Keep a bucktail or a weedless spoon over cabbage rigged through the warm months.
