929-acre lake near Conneaut Lake. The largest natural glacial lake in Pennsylvania, a classic muskie and largemouth water in the northwest corner. The lake tops out around 65 ft. The contours come from a model of the real basin shape and its known max depth. Read them as probabilities, not soundings, and keep them out of navigation decisions. On the chart, Conneaut Lake draws 960 acres inside 8.8 miles of shoreline. Index 2 on the shoreline: a few honest points and pockets, nothing labyrinthine. The shallow band under 15 ft claims about 52% of the surface on the model — that's where the groceries are. Tip to tip the water measures near 2.7 mi with a 1-mi widest point. You'll find it in Crawford County. For a second option, Pymatuning Reservoir lies 10 mi west.
In spring, largemouth bass run shallow here, mostly 2 to 10 ft. Midsummer fish sit out in 8 to 20 ft before dropping to 15 to 35 ft for winter. Spring largemouth bass concentrate at Shallow bay flat, a prime-rated weed flat around 6 ft. Fish it in early morning and the evening and you'll meet the bite. Early season walleye use the shallows, holding in 4 to 15 ft. Expect a summer slide to 15 to 35 ft, then a winter hold in 20 to 40 ft. Put Inlet Run inflow first on the milk run — an inflow / creek mouth near 7 ft that grades prime for spring. In summer the feeding windows fall in the evening and early morning. Tie on a crawler harness on bottom bouncer or a deep crankbait (trolled) and you're in the game.

Spring puts crappie in skinny water — 2 to 8 ft is the zone. Warm water sends them out to 10 to 25 ft; cold water stacks them in 15 to 35 ft. Old creek channel is the standout, a creek channel at roughly 33 ft, rated prime for winter crappie. Plan around early morning and the evening in the warm months.
