479-acre lake in Cariboo Regional District, British Columbia. The lake tops out around 100 ft. The surface is reconstructed from 37 measured spot soundings collected in 1970; water between those measurements is interpolated. Traced from the shoreline, Bluff Lake runs 479 acres with 4.7 miles of edge. The shoreline is moderately structured (index 1.5) — enough points and pockets to pattern. 13% of the surface is littoral (under ~15 ft), per the model — cover, weeds and forage water. Spring puts rainbow trout in skinny water — 5 to 20 ft is the zone. As the season builds they drop to 8 to 30 ft, wintering in 8 to 40 ft. Spring rainbow trout concentrate at Main-lake point, a good-rated point around 1 ft. Warm-month bites cluster around early morning and the evening. A dodger + spoon (deep troll) or a flutter spoon covers the summer program.

In spring, bull trout run shallow here, mostly 10 to 40 ft. Midsummer fish sit out in 30 to 90 ft before dropping to 20 to 70 ft for winter. Summer bull trout concentrate at Deep basin, a good-rated deep basin around 100 ft. Fish it in early morning and the evening and you'll meet the bite. You won't need more than a trolled plug on downrigger or a heavy jigging spoon most summer days.

Come spring, look for dolly varden tight to the bank in 1 to 30 ft. They move out to 2 to 40 ft in summer and finish the year down in 8 to 45 ft. If you only fish one area, make it Main-lake point: a point around 1 ft that scores prime in spring. Best bite is early morning and the evening. A small chrome spoon or a baitfish streamer is the honest summer answer here.
