Terms of Use
Last updated: August 6, 2026
By using DepthScout, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What DepthScout is
DepthScout provides depth charts, fishing spot suggestions, and related information for recreational fishing guidance only. Spot recommendations are generated from underwater structure and depth data matched against general species behavior patterns — they are a starting point, not a guarantee of catching fish, and not a substitute for local knowledge or your own judgment on the water.
Not for navigation
DepthScout is not a navigational aid or safety device. Depth charts — including survey-based ones — may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Always use a proper marine chart or depth finder for navigation, run your boat safely, and follow all local boating and fishing regulations.
The same applies to any data you export from DepthScout (such as GPX waypoint files): exported waypoints are fishing references only, may be approximate, and must not be used for navigation — on a chartplotter or anywhere else.

Subscriptions, refunds & our 30-day guarantee
DepthScout Pro is a yearly subscription billed through Stripe. It renews automatically until you cancel, which you can do any time from your account page — cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
30-day money-back guarantee: if Pro isn't for you, email support@depthscout.com within 30 days of your first payment and we'll refund it in full — no questions, no forms. (The guarantee covers your first payment; renewals can be cancelled any time before they bill.)
Fishing regulations
You're responsible for knowing and following your local fishing laws and regulations, including licensing requirements, seasons, size and bag limits, and protected species rules. DepthScout does not verify regulations for you.
No warranty
DepthScout is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep data accurate, but we don't guarantee that depth charts, spot recommendations, or any other information are complete, current, or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DepthScout is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including any decisions made or actions taken based on its content, on or off the water.
Changes
We may update these terms or the app itself over time. Continued use of DepthScout after changes means you accept the updated terms.
